Who Was LB Bussant?
According to page 165 of A Memorial and Biographical History of McLennan, Falls, Bell and Coryell Counties, Texas (The Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago, 1893), βThe Roman Catholic Church is in membership probably the third denomination in McLennan county, while in churches it has but two, with two buildings, at $24,500 estimated value. Its membership is 1,220. The chief church is at Waco, with places at West and Tours. It was first opened in the county at Waco by Rev. L. B. Bussant. Rev. A. Badelon, D. D., succeeded him in 1880 and has served since, as the oldest pastor in the county in this church.β
