Who was Joe Coltharp?

Joe Coltharp is a permanent Texan who lived from December 13, 1912 to April 19, 2010. He served his country during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star medal.

Mr. Coltharp was a graduate Gatesville High School (1930) and the University of Texas at Austin (BS in Education in 1952 and MS in Education in 1956) and served as a curator at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center’s photography collection.

Joe Coltharp is buried in Turnersville Cemetery in Turnersville, Texas. You can find his obituary here.
